Do You Remember

Do you remember when we gazed into the yonder together

Unsure of tomorrow, unwilling to turn back

Now I lie, tracing back leaf veins

Sifting through soot in search of belonging

To grow into one undeterred to stand alone

But as time marches on, I only erode

Until there’s nothing much left

Nothing much at all
